the people with political power in the US are all millionaires. I am not talking about elected people but the ones in actual powerful positions.

The system used to require it to get elected and those who were elected that way are still holding the power string, even though they are approach 80 and more.

That's why the system is falling apart. Young people with modern ideas and ambitions are pushed away. In a connected world they don't need politics. They just do business in places that let them. IN the mean time the system and its power brokers destroy what's left or let the remnants of better times deteriorate. We can see it all over the place. It's not going to change.
