Umair, I agree with you and recently moved back to Europe because of it, but I think you miss one point that is very important and explains most of your observations: Since the supreme court ruled in citizens united (probably sooner but for sure at that point), America is no longer a democracy. It is a money-driven media circus where the vast majority of people have no time to really read party documents or visions. They catch commercials on TV or YouTube, form an opinion about whose face they like and which message touches them emotionally and then spent 5 minutes every 4 years to vote. They are, and you as a psychologist appreciate this - participants in a pageant that is labeled democracy but it actually isn't. IMHO that's also the reason that you can't really see any significant difference in the actual political actions in both parties. Trump was a nationalist as president and Biden is a protectionist (even more than Trump) and warmonger. People work hard while their rights are being removed. I have to smile sarcastically when realizing that America was founded on a flight from feudalism and now it has come full circle, back to what it aimed to escape. Only difference is that they don't call it a king, they call it a president. rest is the same.
